eUICC

Embedded SIM (eSIM or eUICC) is generation of SIM cards.
It is a reprogrammable chip attached to motherboard at the manufacturing stage inside the smartphone, tablet, and other connected objects, serves the same functionality as a removable SIM card. Not only the information on eUICC is rewritable, but also it can be updated over the air (OTA technology). These features make it flexible for OEMs and end customers to select or change service providers without having to replace SIM cards, and for remotely manage multiple mobile network operator subscriptions.
