Beijing Watchdata Co., Ltd. (“Watchdata”) has officially obtained the ISO 50001:2018 (GB/T 23331-2020) Energy Management System certification, marking a major step forward in standardising, regulating, and scientifically managing the company’s energy usage. With this certification, Watchdata’s energy consumption is now subject to measurable, controllable, and sustainable systematic management.

This achievement follows the company’s successful validation of its greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in August, and represents another key milestone on Watchdata’s journey toward green and sustainable development.
As a high-tech enterprise deeply rooted in information security, Watchdata has long regarded green sustainability as a core corporate responsibility. In 2025, the company launched its “Green Development Year” initiative, making the establishment of an energy management system a strategic priority for the year. In parallel, it has systematically mapped out a decarbonisation roadmap aligned with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5°C temperature-control goal, following the SBTi framework.
The ISO 50001 certification reflects Watchdata’s success in benchmarking against international standards and building a robust institutional framework for energy governance. The standard provides a systematic approach for organisations to establish, implement, maintain, and improve energy management systems. Through this system, Watchdata has achieved systematic identification, optimised control, and continuous improvement of its energy use, establishing a closed-loop mechanism for energy-saving enhancements. The green and low-carbon philosophy has been embedded throughout the company’s operations—from top-level design to on-the-ground execution.
The quantitative management and goal-oriented approach required by ISO 50001 align closely with Watchdata’s SBTi-validated emission reduction targets. This integration translates carbon management from high-level commitments into actionable, traceable daily practices, and provides robust data foundations for scientifically charting the path to emissions reduction.
During the system development phase, Watchdata drew extensively on its prior experience in carbon management. Over recent years, the company has completed multiple GHG inventory verifications, obtained product carbon footprint certificates for a range of offerings, and explored innovations in materials and product lightweighting. These efforts have supplied a wealth of baseline data and practical know-how to support the smooth operation of the energy management system.
