Watchdata’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Targets Receive Official SBTi Validation

On August 20, 2026, Beijing Watchdata Co., Ltd. (“Watchdata”) announced that its near-term greenhouse gas emission reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This milestone marks a significant step forward for Watchdata in its sustainable development and low-carbon transition journey, and signifies that the company’s carbon reduction goals are fully aligned with the 1.5°C temperature control target of the Paris Agreement. 

In 2025, Watchdata officially launched its “Year of Green Development” and, under the SBTi framework, systematically planned an emissions reduction roadmap aligned with the 1.5°C temperature control target. Building on this foundation, the company has continuously carried out carbon accounting within its organizational boundaries and product carbon footprint verification, actively exploring new processes and products for energy conservation and carbon reduction, and steadily advancing various emission reduction initiatives.

At the product level, the company continues to advance lowcarbon practices driven by both material and structural innovations, reducing material usage at the source through optimized card dimensions, effectively lowering material consumption and carbon emissions during production. In the connectivity technology domain, Watchdata leverages a dematerialized solution strictly compliant with GSMA SGP.32 IoT eSIM specifications, significantly simplifying device integration processes and effectively addressing the complexities associated with traditional SIM cards in inventory management, logistics distribution, and supply chain coordination—helping clients in IoT and other industries achieve digital management and transition toward low-carbon operations. In January 2026, the company also successfully obtained MasterCard CEC certification, further solidifying its industry leadership in lowcarbon product certification.
