Watchdata gives back: "Watch Road" opens in Sichuan

Watchdata, one of the leading innovative smart card and contactless technology solutions providers in the world gives back and helps the province of Sichuan on its road to recovery from the May 2008 earthquake that devastated the province. “Watch Road”, sponsored by Watchdata, officially opens to traffic in Luoshui village. In addition, Watchdata also kicks off its annual employee travel to visit Sichuan and provide community work in Luoshi village.

Moreover, Mr. Wang Youjun, President of Watchdata, Mr. Li Kaitai, Vice President of Watchdata and Ms. Yang Yan, one of the local government ministers, unveil the “Watchdata Residential Area” project funded by Watchdata. The local government of Sichuan shows its appreciation by setting up a commemorative tablet for the extensive effort Watchdata poured in to help rebuild Sichuan. Watchdata donated RMB700K for local road and ditch construction as well computers and books.

The local government organized sports competition and Watchdata actively participated. The sports competition features programs like feeding ducks, pushing wheelbarrows, fishing, weaving baskets, transplant seedlings, and many more that reflect the everyday farm work of the villagers. Watchdata employees actively participated in the games. The weather was hot but people's enthusiasm did not stop anyone from participating and enjoying the program.

Some Watchdata employees also entered Bolin Middle School, a local junior middle school affected by the earthquake. Their task was to teach the students computer skills there. One and a half hour later, the students were able to type the following words on the computer: “Watchdata is always with you!”

Watchdata continues to send its employees to Sichuan to provide support and community services. Watchdata also discussed with the local government its plan of sending employees that could come and help the reconstruction work of other earthquake-affected villages.
